What is Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation?
Your moods and emotions, including anxiety, are powerfully influenced by electrochemical signals in your brain. When these signals aren’t functioning properly, the hormones and neurotransmitters that regulate your emotions can become unbalanced. By modulating the brain’s electrochemical signals, you can safely and effectively improve mood conditions such as anxiety and depression, and experience better sleep.
Cranial electrotherapy stimulation (CES) is a system of low-level electrical currents applied to a patient’s earlobe. By delivering very low-level micro-current pulses in a wide range of biological frequencies, it electrochemically enhances brain functioning and helps improve patients’ emotions and physiological states of mind by regulating the activity of the subcortical brain structures known to regulate and control emotions.
Many clients notice an immediate reduction in anxiety during their very first CES session;however, this is not usually the case for clients who suffer from multiple issues such as anxiety, insomnia, and depression at the same time. The effect of CES is cumulative, meaning each treatment is potentially more and more effective than the previous. Combining CES with the mental health counseling of a licensed professional counselor increases the effectiveness.
So if you are struggling with anxiety, depression, or insomnia and you have not responded well to medications, then cranial electrotherapy stimulation may be a safe alternative to increase your wellness. For more information on CES or how it can help you, call Integrated Counseling and Wellness.
