Woods Dixon, LPC
Anxiety and Depression
Children and Adolescents
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been practicing for 7 years. I use an integrated, person centered approach. I am nationally certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which focuses on the premise that changing our negative thoughts can change our behaviors. In addition to private practice, I have had experience in hospital and agency settings.
I treat children and adolescents, but enjoy working with all ages. Many young adults come to problem solve life transitions. Adults may come with significant job anxiety and relationship difficulties. I especially enjoy practicing Family Systems Therapy.
Counseling is my second career. I have an MBA and spent 10 years working in international sales and marketing. Counseling turned my life around and provided me with balance and peace. I decided that I wanted a new career helping other people.
There is help and hope in the therapeutic process. Change is possible. My goal is to provide compassion, support, insight and a safe place for you to successfully meet your unique goals.
