Elizabeth (Liz) Stephenson is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She received her bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University and her Masters of Counseling in Marriage, Family and Couple Counseling from Idaho State University. Liz has extensive experience helping individuals with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, trauma recovery, grief and loss, eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image. She has experience working in higher levels of care at an eating disorder treatment center and has specialty assessment training. She employs Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) modalities to best fit her client’s needs and approach trauma experiences. Liz is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS), trained in the medical, nutrition, and therapy aspects of eating disorders, disordered eating and body image disturbance. She also is a supervisor for Idaho state counselor licensing as well as a supervisor/consultant for therapists specializing in eating disorders. She believes in a compassion focus approach to mental health to help reduce shame, building resiliency and enjoyment in all aspects of life
