About Amie

Amie is a counselor intern and E-RYT working toward a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University. She has worked in the mental health and wellness field since 2005 and is a founder of Integrated Counseling and Wellness in Rexburg, ID. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University.

Amie works from the viewpoint that problems arise out of using maladaptive behaviors or cognitions to meet basic human needs. She highlights a holistic, empowering approach to human agency through pinpointing what we have control over and what we do not have control over. She is directive in her approach and believes that accessing and understanding one’s strengths while learning skills for coping with life’s difficulties is a key to healing.

She is an experienced meditation and yoga instructor and utilizes ancient and traditional yoga techniques blended with modern science to help trauma victims or those with chronic pain balance their nervous system, learn self-compassion, and use a neuro-physical path to healing. She is married with three children and loves reading, gardening, and adventures.
