Alicia Jacobson, LMSW
Alicia graduated with a Master of Social Work from Northwest Nazarene University, a Bachelor of Science in University Studies from Brigham Young University-Idaho, and an Associate of Science in Family Science from Ricks College. Alicia believes that mental health is the key to overall wellness. She is passionate about empowering individuals and providing a welcoming, safe space where clients are supported through the therapeutic process.
Her approach is person-centered to help clients discover and utilize their strengths to best navigate their lives. Having a keen interest and understanding of how past traumas, attachments, and subsequent patterns influences a person, she weaves this knowledge into her work with clients. Alicia enjoys working with a variety of people, including those within the LGBTQ+ community. She has experience working with individuals endorsing a variety of challenges, including suicide ideation, sexual trauma, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Alicia facilitates individual and group counseling using evidence-based modalities, such as polyvagal theory, dialectical behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion-focused therapy, CBT, narrative therapy, play therapy, and art therapy.
Alicia and her husband of over 35 years are the parents of three daughters and have two darling grandkids. Her greatest joy is spending time with her family. She loves reading, connecting to nature, and staying curious.
